Mayrhofen Ski Lessons & Guiding

Skiing or boarding the off-piste at Mayrhofen for the first time can take a little time to come to terms with, particularly with regards to exits & routes into the valleys. The freeride steeps below & behind the Tux cable car, lift accessed off-piste from the top of Penken, Horberg, Rastkogel & Eggalm or backcountry ski-touring areas further up the summits are easier to ski with a local guide or instructor. Having a guide to aid exploration, particularly when the obvious zones are tracked out, is useful to discovering the secret stashes of the resort plus will provide safety & perhaps improve your backcountry & off-piste skiing skills as well. Beyond Mayrhofen, the off-piste routes at Hintertux Glacier are better done under the watchful eye of a guide or instructor.

A huge number of ski instructors, ski schools & mountain guides are based in the Mayrhofen ski resort & broader Zillertal, including the adjacent skiing areas of Hochzillertal, Zillertal Arena & Hintertux Glacier. Joining a mixed guided group is a whole lot cheaper than hiring a private guide or instructor, but with the major caveat being one never knows the ski ability & skill level of the other group members until it may be too late!
