Driving to Sierra California

The 16 mile drive from South Lake Tahoe takes about 30 minutes, depending on road conditions. After a big snowfall, it can be slow going. You’ll need to carry tire chains, or 4WD vehicles with snow tires are OK.

There is a lot of free parking at Sierra at Tahoe that is close to the slopes and the base lodge.

Other Transport

There are free South Shore Shuttles between South Lake Tahoe and Sierra-at-Tahoe. These depart from the Stateline Transit Center and various spots around town including the Stateline casinos, but there are only one to two schedules per day.
