Jackson Hole Ski Rentals

Jackson Hole Sports has a convenient location at the base of the Bridger Gondola. If you’re not staying near the slopes, they can provide a delivery service as well as storage options, so you don’t have to lug your equipment back to your lodging. The resort also has a few other ski rental outlets in Teton Village. Rates for Jackson Hole ski rentals and snowboard equipment are up there, so if you want to save some money, you can look at the plentiful options in Jackson, especially on the highway on the way to the resort.

Jackson Hole Ski School

The Jackson snowsports school offers the usual line up of group and private lessons for adults and kids that are targeted towards beginner skiers and snowboarders. For intermediates, a lesson can also be a good idea because there’s a lot of variety with respect to the difficulty of the blue runs, and an instructor can ensure you’re hitting the appropriate progression terrain.

Some of the lessons meet at Solitude Station at the mid-station of the Sweetwater Gondola (children's lessons 7 years old and up, adult beginner lessons and adult class lessons). Rentals for children and adult beginners are available at the station as well as lift tickets. Little kids’ lessons (ages 3-6) meet at The Kids Ranch in The Cody House at the base area.

Where the Jackson Hole ski school really stands apart from many other ski resorts, is the lessons for advanced and expert riders. The ski school offers steep and deep clinics and other specialist clinics. Private lessons are particularly popular because you can pay for the privilege of early access to the tram or gondola, and it seems that the instructors work with the ski patrollers to get early access to terrain that’s been freshly avi controlled.

The snowsports school also provides mountain guiding services. Guides will help you explore the thousands of acres of backcountry outside the boundaries of the ski resort. They’ll also provide tuition regarding technique and backcountry safety if you so desire.

Facilities for Children

The Wrangler Daycare facility near the base of the Bridger Gondola provides daycare for young ‘uns aged from 6 months to 3 years. Half and full day programs are available, which are rather pricey.

There are also various Jackson Hole babysitting services. You may get that romantic dinner together after all!

Eating On Mountain

On-mountain dining options at Jackson Hole are surprisingly limited, but you can always return to the base and find plenty of options in Teton Village.

Corbet’s Cabin at the top of the tram serves up the highest snacks around. Waffles are the main fare and possibly a little over-rated, but the views are definitely not over-rated.

Rendezvous Lodge adjacent to the top station of the Bridger Gondola has three separate eateries, including an upscale restaurant offering phenomenal views, a cafeteria with freshly cooked fare, and a café with pizza by the slice.

Good nosh is available at the Casper Restaurant at the top of the Sweetwater Gondola, whilst ski school participants can use the cafeterias at the mid-station of the Sweetwater.

For a quick snack or coffee, the General Store next to the base of the tram is OK.
